Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! If you’re newly engaged you might be noticing bridal shops are posting a lot about trunk shows, but what is trunk show and how does it apply to you? We’re here to help break that down.

A Trunk Show is where a bridal designer loans a selection of sample dresses to a bridal shop for a limited time, typically one weekend, in order to showcase and preview their new styles. It’s a great way for the designer to get feedback on their new line and for shops to gauge what samples to purchase for their regular in-store collection. Here’s how that benefits you:

• You get access to try on sample styles that otherwise may not be on the market for months when they’re officially released and you get to order them before anyone else

• Trunk shows typically come along with a promotion, where dresses ordered during the trunk show can be discounted, even though they’re a new order and from the latest season

• Some bridal shops offer contests and draws along with the Trunk Show where you can be entered to win some great prizes. For example, at our upcoming Essense of Australia trunk show you can be entered to win a $100 Accessory Gift Certificate that can be used towards any accessory purchase at JB!
