Alterations Update as of April 3, 2020:
Please note that in regards to alterations that we are taking our approaches day by day as the timeline for when we can reopen and resume operation is still uncertain.
As of right now, what we know is this: depending on what the government updates are, we will have to prioritize fittings based on the wedding dates, combined with your flexibility in dates and times that you can come in for pinnings and fittings once it is safe to do so.
In the interim, we recommend that you prepare as much as you can so that you are ready to go once you hear from us with scheduling possibilities (I.e: begin acquiring your shoes, undergarments and anything else that is needed in order to be prepared for your fitting).
If there have been any changes to your event date, please email us as soon as possible so that we may update your profiles accordingly.
Please bear with us as we navigate these unprecedented times. The safety of our clients and their families are of the highest importance to us and we know that as soon as we are able to open, our team will be able to provide expedited options for alterations given client flexibility. We also ask that you please keep updated with government guidelines and protocols, along with our website so that you can reach out to us as well.

Dear JB Customers,
We wanted to update you on the current situation regarding the coronavirus as it pertains to our store, including incoming orders, appointments and future purchases. We want you to know that we are taking this situation very seriously and the safety or our customers and staff is our number one concern. Therefore, we ask that you are understanding as we implement some hightened measures to mitigate the risks in our store over the coming weeks. We think that if we work together and take the necessary precautions we can still provide an amazing and productive shopping experience during this time.
With respect to existing orders, you may be wondering how gown production and your orders may be affected. The short answer and the good news is: not by much at this point. A few factors helped mitigate this risk. Firstly, the outbreak happened to occur around the time of Chinese New Year, when there are normally factory shutdowns every year, usually lasting for two weeks. The manufacturers and our designers have processes in place to build up inventory ahead of time to account for this. The outbreak of the virus extended factory shutdowns for several weeks (depending on location). We are in constant communication with our suppliers and it is our understanding that most of production in China is back online at this point, as China appears to be passed the peak of the crisis and the situation is slowly improving there. Secondly, many of our designers also have production facilities that operate outside of China (countries such as India, Myanmar & Vietnam for example). And lastly, we assure you that everyone along the supply chain is working very hard to get the dresses to our customers on time by optimizing inventory and prioritizing orders based on wear dates. While we cannot be 100% sure that there won't be delays, as the situation is very fluid and many factors are in a state of flux, we are doing everything we can to manage the situation.
As status updates come in for individual orders, we will contact you with those updates as soon as possible, however please be mindful of the approximate ship date email we sent you shortly after your order was placed as status updates are provided by the manufacturer as we get closer to those individualized arrival times.
Within our store, on the home front if you will, please rest assured that we are following guidelines provided by the health authorities, which includes but is not limited to: extreme hand washing by staff, heavy use of wipes and being mindful of social distancing between staff and customers as much as possible. We also use face masks when possible, however the shortage of supply of masks means we use them when we can source them (they are limited usage items). We understand if you are not comfortable shopping at this time but we are open for business. Another step that we've taken is spacing shopping parties as far as possible during appointments. Our store is relatively large with multiple separate spaces, and given the fact that we are not as busy as we normally would be during this time of year, we are actually able to do that.
For future brides and clients considering ordering their gowns, we advise purchasing well in advance in case of any delays with future orders as factories prioritize Spring and Summer wear dates. It is never too early to order; the sooner you can place, the better as this will ensure dress delivery and timely alterations.
Lastly, we ask that should you have an appointment booked with us but suddenly find yourself feeling unwell (or have been in close proximity to someone who has been feeling ill), we ask that you please cancel your appointment, no matter how last minute that cancellation may be. In the interest of the health and safety of all our customers and clientele, we would be happy to reschedule you to come in on a future date when you are feeling better.
