There’s a lot of conflicting information out there about how long it takes to order a wedding dress. Let us help you break it down!

12 Months: IDEAL!

Giving yourself 1 year to get your wedding dress is the perfect timeline, allowing you to check out your options, say “oui”, and have your dress made and shipped in time for both your alterations and some extra wiggle room.

8 Months: GREAT

This is our most typical timeline for ordering in a dress. It allows 4-5 months for the dress to be made and shipped, plus 12 weeks for alterations. No rush fees, no headaches.

6 Months: DOABLE

It is possible to order from most of our dress designers in a 6 month timeframe, but you may be required to pay a rush fee. Alternatively you may need to rush your alterations and be prepared to need flexibility for scheduling those fittings.

4 Months: OH BOY

This is an extremely tight timeline; if a rush or super rush is available, “Start the Car!”. That said, occasionally designers have stock available of their preferred styles, typically in sizes anywhere from 8 to 14. These are new dresses that are already made and can ship quickly. Not all dresses will be available with this option and stock can change on a moment’s notice. You may also be required to pay a small stocking fee and be flexible with your alterations schedule.

2 Months: SAMPLE SALE

Tight for time? Don’t despair! We always have a gorgeous selection available in our sample sale. Buying off the rack is a great option for a tight timeline, and these dresses will be marked down significantly from the original price. Sizes and styles may be limited. We work hard to keep these dresses in the best condition possible, but given that they’ve been tried on my our brides over they may need some TLC from your seamstress. Be prepared to rush your alterations, but you’ll be able to breathe easy knowing you have your dress in the nick of time!

Extra Tip:

Consider allowing yourself a little extra time if you are hoping to customize your dress. Some of our designers offer customization options that require a little extra shipping time, and some of our brides have had our seamstress do some stunning one-of-a-kind customizations in store! Just remember, this takes time.
